We want to get to know you, and give you the opportunity to know us better here at Piney Grove.  Allow us a moment to share our history, our Four Pillars of Belief, our Mission, and how you might join our fellowship.

OUR HISTORY

Piney Grove Baptist Church was established on August 12,1869, when the 14 founders met in a school house near the site of our present facilities. It was the day when the prayers and vision of a few became a reality, which has been a great blessing to countless people throughout the years. The Sunday School was organized on July 1,1872. Piney Grove Baptist Church affiliated as a Southern Baptist Church.  On July 20th, of 2016, Piney Grove chose to withdraw its affiliation.  Piney Grove Baptist Church is now a non-affiliated baptist fellowship of believers.

OUR FOUR PILLARS

At Piney Grove, we believe in:

  • Proclaiming the authoritative, clear Word of God without apology (2 Timothy 4:1-5, 1 Thessalonians 2:3-13)

  • Genuine worship by lifting high the name of Jesus Christ (Mark 12:30, John 4:23-24, John 12:32)

  • Fervently believing in the power of prayer (Jeremiah 33:3, Ephesians 6:18)

  • Intentionally sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and in service (Matthew 9:36-38, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 6:19-20)

OUR MISSION

The mission of Piney Grove Baptist Church is:

  • to REACH individuals for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ

  • to TEACH God's people to do the "work of the ministry"

  • to RELEASE God's people to fulfill their purpose

JOIN OUR FELLOWSHIP

  • By PROFESSION OF FAITH AND BAPTISM:  One admits he/she is a sinner separated from God, confesses sin to God, and places faith in Jesus for salvation.  As an expression of faith, the new Christian is baptized.  Afterwards, he/she may be accepted into the membership of the church.

  • By TRANSFER of current membership from a local church of "like" faith and practice.

  • By STATEMENT OF FAITH:  This action is taken by one who is not a member of any church or one who holds membership in any church that is not of the Baptist faith. He / she must have previously accepted Christ and been baptized by "immersion."  After consulting with the Elders, he/she will be presented for membership on the basis of Christian experience.  Membership will be granted upon affirmation of the church.

*All adult membership candidates must complete a membership introductory orientation (Connect 101) before "official" membership status is granted.  A Statement of Faith is available upon request.
